First of all, thanks for visiting me on the web!
I grew up in Annapolis, Maryland, stretching my time in every possible direction. As a kid, I played baseball and soccer, played violin in the school orchestras, sang in the school choir, and acted in community theatre and school musicals. Once I got to high school, I knew I needed to focus my time and energy in one direction and my love of the stage made that an easy choice!
I applied and was accepted into Carnegie Mellon University 's School of Drama. The intense conservatory-style program challenged me, emotionally and physically. I was fortunate enough to perform at Carnegie Mellon in shows including The Philadelphia Story, A Flea in Her Ear, The Fantasticks, And the World Goes Round, and A Little Night Music. My first venture into the world of professional theatre came during the summer of 1998, after my sophomore year, at Music Theatre of Wichita. The following summer I received my Equity card with Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, and spent the following three summers there as well. I graduated in May 2000 with honors, but the day's most special moment was when the School of Drama gave me the Charles Willard Award for my contributions to the life of the department.
That autumn, I moved to New York and started my professional career. After a few years of balancing part-time work with short jobs out of town, I booked my first big job, playing Puck in Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Nights' Dream at The Metropolitan Opera. Since then, I've been blessed to have been a part of shows such as Beauty and the Beast , Mamma Mia! , All Shook Up! , Rent , High Fidelity and now Spamalot . I've also enjoyed putting my glove back on for softball games in the Broadway Show League, where the All Shook Up team finished the '05 regular season as undefeated divisional champs, ultimately finishing in third place overall at the conclusion of the playoffs.
Since then, I’ve been blessed to have been a part of shows such as Beauty and the Beast, Mamma Mia, All Shook Up, Rent, High Fidelity, and Monty Python's Spamalot. I also shot my first national commercial in 2006, a Mother’s Day ad for Verizon wireless. The journey continues and I’m so grateful for the constant support of my wonderful family and a special thanks to Becky Beauman for putting my site together!
